Wedding Trends for 2019

As the first month of 2019 draws to a close, we’ve been looking ahead to the wedding trend predictions for the year ahead. From colour schemes to chair choices, we’ve pulled together 4 of our top wedding trends that we are expecting to see a lot more of over the coming months.

Coral Colours

Coral is the new blush pink! This year’s Pantone colour of the year is Living Coral (PANTONE 16-1546) and we expect to see this colour making its way into a lot of wedding colour schemes in 2019, particularly coming into Spring time.

Coral tones are vibrant while providing warmth to a colour scheme – it is strong enough to be the main colour within a scheme or it can sit perfectly with other colours like rich greens or a navy blue.

One of our recommended florists here at The Coniston Hotel, The Hedgerow, are already bang on trend this year, putting together some gorgeous coral creations – from bold and bright to subtle spring blooms.

Cross Back Chairs

We’ve had chair covers and sashes, then along came the ever-popular Chiavari chair… but 2019 is the year of the cross back! We’re absolutely loving these beautiful, wooden chairs.

The chairs are extremely versatile – they look great with dressed round tables, giving a rustic elegance to the room as well as in our ceremony rooms as they complement the wooden beams.

Left as they are, the chairs look simple yet sophisticated but just as the Chiavari before them, cross backs can be dressed up with sashes, ribbons, feathers… you name it! Our recommended supplier, Creative Events, have recently got cross back chairs in stock and we’re loving them – both in our ceremony rooms and for the wedding breakfast.

Festival Vibes

Festival themed weddings have always been popular through the Summer months, but with the return of Glastonbury this year we are expecting to see lots of happy couples draw their inspiration from festivals.

Gone are the days that wedding entertainment ended at a band and a DJ. Festival style line-ups are taking over – think saxophonists, brass bands, acoustic guitarists, DJ sets – the more the merrier! Keep your guests dancing with a full line-up of entertainment.

Festival theming doesn’t end at the entertainment. We recently had the amazing team from Bird & Bone at our last Wedding Venue Showcase, who create the most incredible personalised jackets and accessories. With leather jackets for your Bride Tribe to customised Converse to keep on dancing into the night, Bird & Bone are bringing the festival vibes for 2019.

Floral Installations

After the incredible floral installations at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, this trend is here to stay for 2019. The perfect way to bring the outdoors in. From show-stopping hanging installations and ceremony statements, floral installations will add the wow factor to your wedding. And if you don’t have the wedding budget of a Prince & Princess there’s no need to worry – one floral statement piece is all you need.

Whether you choose a full floral decoration or keep the cost down with natural greenery, floral installations can be created to match your theme perfectly.  Another one of our wonderful recommended florists, Sam Williams, creates the most stunning floral installations for your wedding ceremony or dressing your wedding breakfast room.
