Meet the Team: Melanie Evans

We are delighted to introduce you to a face that may already be familiar to some of you, Melanie Evans, our Sales & Reception Supervisor at Nàdarra Spa. To find out a bit more about Mel's role at Nàdarra Spa, we caught up with Mel and asked her a few questions…

What do you love most about working at the Coniston?

There are many things I love about working at The Coniston.  The two main things are, you have feeling that you are part of a large family and the support you receive from everyone including upper management and company Directors.  I was at my previous job for many years before being made redundant and was worried about starting with a new company, by the end of my 1st week it felt like I’d been here for years, everybody was so welcoming, I knew that The Coniston was the place where I wanted to learn and further my career.

How long have you worked here?

I’ve just celebrated my 2-year anniversary.  I started my career working on hotel reception and have been at Nàdarra Spa for the last year.

What is your job role?

My job role is Nàdarra Spa Sales & Reception Supervisor.  I work alongside the reception team and also look after many of the back of house tasks on our spa booking system.

I have recently taken on the role of Spa Duty Manager, one shift a week, I oversee the running of operations of the spa.

Typical day in your job role?

No day is the same on Spa Reception.  I oversee the team on the daily tasks, which include welcoming spa days guests, residents and of course our members, completing courtesy calls to future guests to touch base before they arrive, completing itineraries and responding to emails.  I really enjoy getting to know all guests and members,  and always make sure that myself and team are constantly interacting with everyone to make sure that they are having that Coniston experience.

Favourite treatment?

Too many too choose from!  If I were to pick the treatment that I would book for that ultimate relaxation it would be the Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Wellbeing Experience.  This massage is designed to not only relax the body and mind; but through the oil blend selection it is designed to help any concerns that you have.

What is your top wellbeing tip?

My top well-being tip is to make sure that you always take time out for yourself.  Life can be fast and I believe that you need to make time to recharge and reset your mind as well as your body, whether it's putting your phone away, going out for dinner by yourself or sitting quietly for an hour reading.

Favourite things about the Dales?

Having lived in Skipton since I was 3 years old and my maternal family originating from Settle, I spent many school holidays driving around the dales with my Grandparents, so I just love that in whichever road you take out of Skipton, 5 minutes later you’re surrounded by the vast green fields of God’s Own Country!
