The Ashes | Sportsman’s Dinner

As The Ashes begins, join us for a very special evening to discuss all things cricket, with some very special guests; Matthew Hoggard, former England cricketer and Jason Gillespie, former Australian cricketer and now coach.

On Wednesday 21 June  we're very excited to be hosting our own 'The Ashes | Sportman's Dinner'.

From 7pm we'll be joined by some very special guests; Matthew Hoggard, former England cricketer and Jason Gillespie, former Australian cricketer and now coach, who'll be sharing their insight into one of the biggest sporting events.

Jonathan Doidge
Our host for the evening, freelance sports broadcaster and writer, Jonathan regularly follows Yorkshire County Cricket Club for the BBC. He also hosts the podcast 'Sporting Lives'. Jonathan has been a passionate cricket fan since childhood!

Matthew Hoggard
Former English cricketer, who played international cricket for England from 2000 to 2008, playing both Test cricket and One Day Internationals. 6' 2" Hoggard was a right arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman. He was the captain of Leicestershire from 2010 until he announced his retirement in 2013. Previous to this he played for Yorkshire for a total of thirteen years.

Jason Gillespie
An Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. A right-arm fast bowler, he was also a competent lower-order batsman whose unbeaten 201 in his last Test match is the highest score by a night-watchman in international cricket.Gillespie announced his retirement from first-class cricket in Australia in February 2008. He then played in the unauthorised Indian Cricket League for the Ahmedabad Rockets.At the end of the 2008 English domestic season he retired from all first-class cricket.
